Restricted Frequency #161
Global Comics Lecture, Radix Reads, Soundscape #3, After Repression, and Honest Money
1. OSU: Global Comics Lecture Series
Ohio State University was originally planning to fly me out to Columbus back in May to deliver a talk as part of their Global Comics Lecture Series, but that of course was put on ice what with 2020 turning human get-togethers into a very serious health hazard.
Luckily though, the talk will now be presented virtually on October 19, allowing anyone anywhere to “attend”.
Registration, however, is required.
2. Radix Reads
On a related note, Radix Media is organizing a virtual reading together with Molly Crabapple, Matt L., John Dermot Woods, and myself. Come and get to know us.
October 8, 2020
5:00-7:00 PM CDT
3. Radix Kickstarter
On yet another related note, Radix Media’s Kickstarter is now 56% funded! Great accomplishment so far. This is a great opportunity to get a unique collection of visually-oriented publications including an adult coloring book by Molly Crabapple, an introspective graphic novella by Dermot Woods and Matt L., as well as a beautifully handcrafted serialized edition of THE SOLAR GRID by myself, which is bound to be very very limited.
4. TSG Soundscape #3
The sonic wizard known as N Slash A has released the 3rd groundbreaking track in THE SOLAR GRID SOUNDSCAPE album! Feast your ears on this grand auditory experience (also, it’s Bandcamp Friday, meaning Bandcamp is waving fees, meaning the entirety of your purchase would go directly towards N Slash A).
5. After Repression
Received my comps for AFTER REPRESSION: HOW POLARIZATION DERAILS DEMOCRATIC TRANSITION by Elizabeth R. Nugent, for which I designed the cover. A more than timely book from Princeton University Press. More pics up at Ganzeer.com
6. Discount: Honest Money!
HONEST MONEY, a double-sided 4-color letterpressed set of alternative currency is now on sale from $150 to only $10, and they’re going quickly. Set includes 6 different bills. Valid only until October 9th. Get ‘em while they last.
That covers this edition’s updates. Hope there’s something in there that piques your interest. Thanks for reading and sticking around.
Stay safe, healthy, and curious,
